Heartwarming moment at Comic Relief 2024

On Friday 15th March Comic Relief honoured our former president Mohamed Saleem (2013-2014) with a prestigious award named after its legendary co-founder Sir Lenny Henry. ‘The Lenny Award’ is awarded to those Comic Relief fundraisers who go the extra mile and lead the charge with community spirit and we are overjoyed that they selected Mohamed Saleem as it’s first ever recipient. In his final appearance as Comic Relief host since its inception 39 years ago, Sir Lenny Henry presented Mohammed Saleem with the award during the annual BBC live show commending him for his amazing fundraising efforts since recovering from his near fatal cycling accident in 2017 which initially left him paralysed. We’re so proud of Mohamed Saleem and pray that Allah (swt) continues to give him strength and barakah in all his charitable endeavours.
